Mills & Reeve announced as best law firm across Oxfordshire!
Mills & Reeve is celebrating after receiving the best law firm award at the Oxfordshire Property Festival Awards 2021.
The awards recognise some of the best of the Oxfordshire property, design and construction sectors.
Mills & Reeve won the Best Law Firm award which identified law firms operating in the built environment, construction and real estate sectors who could demonstrate that they have been active in the Oxfordshire marketplace.
Over the past two years, Mills & Reeve has worked on the Oxford North project, negotiating a suite of agreements needed to enable the grant of planning permission. This is one of the most significant developments to be approved in Oxford in recent years. Oxford North will be a new life sciences district for Oxford, with innovation and sustainability at its heart, providing 4,500 new jobs, up to 480 new homes (of which at least 35% will be affordable homes), shops, bars and restaurants, a hotel, approximately 23 acres of open spaces, including three new grassland parks, and significant investment into the walking, cycling, bus and highway networks.
In addition to Oxford North, Mills & Reeve’s work in Oxfordshire includes acting for interested parties in connection with defending legal challenges to the Cherwell and South Oxfordshire local plans.
The award team included reference to Mills & Reeve’s work with Kadans Science Partner, who expanded its growing European portfolio with the acquisition of The Sherard Building at OSP, in their reasons for giving us the award, saying: “Mills & Reeve justify their participation in the OxPropFest Awards not only through their work over many years for Oxford colleges but in recent months for Thomas White Oxford to navigate planning for the company’s development at Oxford North and with Kadans’ acquisition of The Quadrant, Abingdon Science Park.”

Peter Seaborn, partner at Mills & Reeve, said of the award win: “This award reflects a lot of hard work from the team on a number of real estate projects and I’m really pleased this has been recognised by OxPropFest. Even in the most difficult circumstances in the last 18 months or so, our team has continued to provide outstanding advice to our clients and it’s great that they continue to work with us on these really exciting developments.”
