Our experience

  • Supporting a world-famous original equipment manufacturer on its contract manufacturing arrangements in the India market. We structured the arrangements and prepared the contract. This meant working with local lawyers to ensure the contract complied with Indian law and collaborating with various business teams to define the manufacturing services and ensure the terms reflect the desired treatment for tax, customs and tariffs.

  • Acting for APEDA, a Government of India organisation representing the interests of Indian food exporters. We work on trademark opposition matters, for instance taking action against applicants for UK and EU trademarks which incorporate the word “Basmati” but which are not limited to genuine Basmati rice. As a result of our work, registration is now restricted to restaurants serving Basmati rice meeting certain strict technical and geographical origin criteria.

  • Assisting Bourn Hall Clinics on successfully setting up infertility clinics in India.
