Alex tries to turn intellectual property disputes into commercial opportunities for his clients. He knows that IP disputes rarely have certain outcomes, and that the financial and other remedies which the courts can award to a successful IP litigant will rarely justify the financial and time investment which prolonged litigation demands. Despite this, he regularly sees businesses (and their lawyers) fight to the bitter end just to prove that their legal position is the correct one, regardless of the commercial costs and consequences. He prefers to seek swift, pragmatic, fair and (ideally) creative outcomes, and enjoys the challenge of finding them.
