What can I do for you

Peter is a solicitor in the firm's real estate team advising on complex investment and development projects, with a particular focus on strategic land and development and patient capital investment. His work involves advising clients on strategic land agreements (options, promotion agreements, conditional contracts, etc), acquisitions, disposals and commercial, residential and mixed-use development schemes. Peter's clients include Cambridge Colleges, landowners, large national house builders, patient capital investors, property developers and land promoters.

What do others say

Outstanding client service and delivering positive outcomes and successful solutions to his clients is really important to Peter. Following completion of a deal recently, a client's feedback to Peter was: "We feel incredibly valued as a client. Thank you for all of your hard work in getting this project over the line".

Supporting your ambitions

Peter regularly works on large-scale and long-running projects, often with many parties, consultants and advisors involved. He is adept at building strong relationships with his clients, their other professional advisors and key project stakeholders to help successfully deliver projects.

Recent highlights for Peter include advising:

  • Trinity College Cambridge on the strategic management of its substantial property portfolio, including Felixstowe Docks, the Cambridge Science Park, Dunsfold Park, the O2 Arena and other strategic landholdings across the country
  • Cambridge United Football Club on the purchase of its home since 1932, the Abbey Stadium, from Grosvenor Developments. This transaction saw the Football Club reunited with ownership of the stadium, having sold it in 2004.
  • Marshall Group Properties on the sale, together with an adjoining landowner, of a 1,200 home development site to the north of Cherry Hinton, Cambridge to Bellway
  • Axis Land Partnerships, part of the Sir Robert McAlpine Group, on various promotion agreements across southern and eastern England and on the promotion, planning and subsequent disposal of a retirement village and 50 acre countryside park in Stapleford, Cambridge

What else should you know?

Outside of work, Peter is a keen sportsman - willing to turn his hand to most sports, but in particular he plays rugby for a local team, the Mills & Reeve cricket team and (fair weather) rowing for a local club.

What our clients say about us

“I think Mills & Reeve are a wonderful firm. The support they have provided to us in a really difficult area has been brilliant, collaborative and commercially minded. The team were absolutely wonderful and a joy to work with. Amazing advice and support and a real collaborative effort with us. I can't thank them enough for getting us through some really tough times and doing so with an amazing can-do attitude.”

“They are friendly, fast, always available and always on top of the game. I tend to judge my legal team against the other side's legal team and never doubt Mills & Reeve is the better of the two.”

“All interactions have been very clear. Responses to questions have always been very swift and unambiguous. Our company, and my family, have used various services in Mills & Reeve with the same level of satisfaction.”

“I value the fact that Mills & Reeve are recognised as a good place to work in the UK Best Companies survey. This aligns with the values of our business and means that Mills & Reeve can share what is required to achieve this status with our business.”
