Supporting your ambitions

Virginia recently advised a landed estate client (both in hand and let property) on an inheritance tax review, which involved closing down old trusts and repatriating an offshore trust, resulting in a simpler structure going forward designed to maximise reliefs from inheritance tax.     

She enjoys helping clients explore their philanthropic goals and advising on suitable structures. 

She recently advised the trustees of various settlements on a share company buyback and associated trust restructuring so that the shares benefit the successor to the company with different assets passing to other family members.

What else should you know?

Virginia worked in the City of London for ten years before returning home to East Anglia. She is a non-executive director of stockbrokers, Barratt & Cooke Holdings Limited. She's also a proponent of the view that people are happier when they live more generous lives. Her own community based voluntary work includes acting as trustee of  YANA  (rural mental health).
