FIFA Football Agent Regulations

The FIFA Council approved the new FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR) on 16 December 2022, bringing the regulation and licensing of football agents back under the remit of FIFA.

Our industry experts have provided bespoke training to agents for the FIFA Agents exam (and access to an extensive bank of practice questions). We can provide tailored solutions to representation contracts in light of the FFAR and continued regulatory advice on compliance and disputes as well as commercial advice on sponsorships, image rights and reputation management.

Whether it's preparation for the exam, reviewing template representation or tripartite agreements, or advising on how the FIFA football agent regulations will apply to your transactions, we're here to work with you to ensure your processes run smoothly and comply with the regulations, as well as enhancing your own knowledge of these key regulations.

Our offering

The FIFA football agent regulations have perhaps been the most anticipated piece of sports law regulation in recent years.

The regulation is set to enter into force in a phased manner, with Articles 1-10 and 22-27, which generally relate to processes for obtaining a licence, taking effect on 9 January 2023. The remaining articles (which generally relate to acting as a football agent, and the obligations of football agents and their clients) come into force on 1 October 2023.

Given that this is one of the most important regulation changes in years to impact football, coupled with our belief in developing meaningful relationships with our clients and contacts, we're allowing anyone interested in sitting the exam free access to our online course - including all football personnel who will be required to have a working knowledge of the FIFA football agent regulations and related regulations.

We'll also be offering various additional training options for those who wish to have access to our industry experts with interactive workshops, or those wishing to discuss a more bespoke training option.

Although our course will cover these areas in detail, for those wishing to undertake any preparatory work please see below links to applicable FIFA Regulations and explanatory documents (the most important of which will be the FIFA football agent regulations themselves):
